Can You Get a Sample of CheetahWrap Before You Buy?

With insight from Ray Wilkerson, CheetahWrap

If you have ever hesitated on a vinyl wrap color because you were not sure how it would really look on a vehicle, you are not alone. It is one of the most common questions we hear at CheetahWrap: can I get a sample first?

Here is the honest answer. We do not offer individual free samples. What we do offer is a way to see and test color before you commit to a full roll.

How to check color before you buy

CheetahWrap sells select colors by the foot, with a 3-foot minimum. That means you can order a small section of the exact material you plan to use, hold it up next to the vehicle, check it in daylight and shade, and get a feel for the finish before ordering a full roll for the job.

If you want to compare several colors side by side, our swatch decks are the better option. They lay out our color lineup in one place so you can flip through finishes and shades without ordering multiple by-the-foot cuts. You can find them here: CheetahWrap Sales Tools.

For wrap shops quoting jobs regularly, keeping a swatch deck on hand is worth it. Customers want to see color in person, not just on a screen, and having that deck ready during a consultation can be the difference between a maybe and a booked job.

What to do if the color does not match what you expected

Every so often, a customer or installer will say the wrap they received does not look like the color in the online photo. Screens display color differently, and lighting changes everything, so this is worth addressing before it becomes a bigger issue.

If you believe the material itself is defective or flawed, rather than just a screen color difference, we need a few things to process that claim:

  • Your original order number, which will start with CW
  • The lot number from the material
  • Photos or video showing the defect
  • The defective material itself, if requested

Having this ready when you reach out speeds up the whole process. It is the same advice we would give any installer: document before you install. Once material is on a vehicle, it is much harder to make a claim.

Bottom line

You will not get a free sample swatch mailed out, but between by-the-foot ordering and our swatch decks, you have real ways to check color and finish before committing to a full roll. And if something does not look right once it arrives, we have a clear process to help make it right.
